CHARLIE HUDSON
Charlie Hudson is an Australian-American artist based in New York City. Hudson’s work often consists of abstracted brush strokes, colors and patterns, which he uses to render filtered views of his surroundings and habitat. Drawing primarily from memory, Hudson’s work both obscures and highlights each scene. Large, prominent brushstrokes flow throughout, creating a sense of oneness in everything, while smaller, more detailed strokes cluster together, at once distracting and enticing in the eye. Hudson works primarily in paint, though often expanding it into site specific installation and sculptural forms. Much of Hudson’s practice is spent traveling and painting murals, which he has done all over the world.
